Description
Fluency is the ability to read at an appropriate rate, accurately, and with prosody. It is the central component in reading skill. When students are fluent they are able to read with sufficient speed and rhythm. They are able to animate and alter their tone as they read stories. At the fluent stage students concentrate on the meaning and enjoy reading.
